OMEPRAZOLE TABLETS 10mg"TOWA" are acid secretion suppressants. They strongly reduce gastric acid secretion and mitigate its harmful effects. As a result, they promote healing of gastric ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and relieve stomach pain and heartburn. They are also effective for gastric ulcers caused by aspirin or nonsteroidal anti‑inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
In addition, OMEPRAL is used in combination with two antibiotics for eradication of Helicobacter pylori, the bacterium responsible for various gastric lesions including gastritis and peptic ulcers. Reducing gastric acid enhances antibiotic effectiveness in the stomach and increases eradication success rates.
