Efficacy
This medicine acts on receptors of a substance (leukotriene) that causes inflammation of the airway/nasal mucosa and contraction of the airway. By suppressing action of leukotriene, this medicine makes breathing easier, improves nasal congestion and suppresses secretion of nasal discharge.
It is usually used to treat bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis. However, it is not intended to immediately improve bronchial asthma attacks or symptoms that have already started.
 
Usage
・For bronchial asthma: In general, for adults, take 10 mg of montelukast at a time, once a day before bedtime.
・For allergic rhinitis: In general, for adults, take 5 to 10 mg of montelukast at a time, once a day before bedtime.
This preparation contains 10 mg of montelukast in a tablet. Strictly follow the instructions.
You can moisten the tablet with saliva on your tongue, then crush it lightly with your tongue, and swallow the tablet with saliva. Do not take the tablet without water when you are lying down.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

＜Warning＞
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include skin rash, itch, hives, headache, somnolence, diarrhea, abdominal pain, gastric distress, nausea, abnormal hepatic function and dry mouth. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
