Important Update: Resuming Shipping to the United States & New Guidelines for Smooth Delivery

Dear Valued Customers,

We are delighted to announce that Japan Post officially resumed shipping to the United States in mid-April of this year, following a suspension that began at the end of last August.

To help ensure your packages clear customs smoothly and arrive safely, the shipping process now requires a few additional steps compared to before. These include the prepayment of duties and taxes, as well as measures designed to align with FDA personal importation guidelines.

To help ensure a smooth shipping experience under these updated procedures, we spent the past several weeks conducting trial shipments with selected customers who contacted us through our website. Thanks to their cooperation and the successful results, we are now pleased to officially resume orders from customers throughout the United States.

*To ensure a smooth delivery process, we kindly ask that you review and agree to the guidelines outlined on this page before placing your order.

Key Updates for Your Upcoming Orders

To help ensure smooth delivery under the current import environment, please keep the following updates in mind:

  1. Prepayment of duties and taxes at checkout

  2. Additional documentation for FDA personal importation guidelines

1. Prepayment of Duties and Taxes

Under the current shipping process, duties and taxes must be prepaid before shipment.

To make the delivery process easier for our customers, the following standard fees will automatically be added at checkout:

  • Duties & Taxes: 10% of the product price

  • Handling Fee: USD 5

These charges will appear clearly in your cart as “Duties & Taxes” and “Handling Fee.”

2. Compliance With FDA Personal Importation Guidelines

To help your package be recognized as a personal import and proceed through customs more smoothly, we will include the following documents inside each package:

  • A document confirming your agreement to the personal importation conditions

  • Product information sheets for the medications included in your order

According to FDA guidance, imported products should be intended for personal use only and should not pose an unreasonable risk to the user. Please note that import decisions may ultimately vary depending on the discretion of the relevant authorities.

To help demonstrate that orders are intended for personal use—and to reduce the possibility of delays related to larger quantities—we currently apply purchase quantity limits to certain products.

About Purchase Quantity Limits

The allowable quantity varies depending on the product size, dosage, recommended daily use, and product combinations in your cart.

For example, 100-tablet or 100-capsule products with a recommended dosage of 3 or more per day may allow up to 3 boxes.

However, products with a recommended dosage of 2 or fewer per day may be limited to 2 boxes or 1 box only, even for 100-tablet or 100-capsule types.

Examples:

Eclar Plaster: Maximum 2 boxes

Ketotifen Capsules (100 capsules): Maximum 2 boxes

Ketas 10mg (100-tablet type): Maximum 3 boxes

Ketas 10mg (500-tablet type): Maximum 1 box

Please note that combining multiple restricted products in the same order may further reduce the allowable quantity.

If the quantity in your cart exceeds the current limit, an error message will appear during checkout. (If you would like to know the purchase limit for a specific product in advance, please feel free to contact us before placing your order.)

Please note that these limits may be adjusted in the future depending on shipping and import conditions.

Results From Our Trial Shipments

During our May trial shipment period, we carefully monitored delivery performance and observed the following average delivery times:

  • Free Shipping: Approximately 3 weeks

  • EMS Shipping: Approximately 7–10 days

We are pleased to share that, during the trial period, we did not encounter any cases of customers receiving FDA notices regarding personal importation, nor any packages being returned to Japan.

Refund Policy for U.S. Shipments

As stated in our standard refund policy, shipped products are generally non-refundable.

However, because import conditions may change depending on regulatory discretion—and because we are proactively applying quantity limits to support smooth import processing—we will provide a refund for the product price if a package shipped to the United States is returned to Japan due to customs or FDA import-related issues.

Please note that the following charges are non-refundable:

  • Duties & Taxes

  • Handling Fee

*If a package is returned to Japan for customer-related reasons rather than customs or FDA import restrictions, the order will remain non-refundable, consistent with our policy for other countries. In such cases, we can arrange reshipment upon request.

Please also note that compensation for lost or damaged packages follows the same policy as shipments to other countries. EMS shipments include compensation coverage. However, free shipping does not include compensation for loss or damage, and investigation requests cannot be submitted for shipments sent via the free shipping method. If you require compensation coverage or insurance, please select EMS shipping.

Thank you very much for your understanding, patience, and cooperation as we continue adapting to these updated shipping procedures.

We sincerely appreciate your support and look forward to serving you again.
