This medicine shows water-absorbing property and water-holding capacity to adjust transportation of gastrointestinal contents by swelling and gelling, and consequently normalize fecal properties.
It is usually used in the treatment of abnormal bowel movements (diarrhea, constipation) and gastrointestinal symptoms in irritable bowel syndrome.
 
Efficacy
It is a non-absorbable irritable bowel syndrome drug and is commonly prescribed. Like a very strong dietary fiber, it is safe and effective for both diarrhea and constipation. Usage
